
Jacqueline A. Kelly
Jacqueline (Jacqui) Asher Kelly is a co-founder and Managing Partner of AsherKelly, with nearly three decades of experience in pensions, health and welfare benefits, and labor and employment law.
A highly respected attorney, Jacqui focuses her practice on Taft-Hartley multiemployer fringe benefit fund representation, with an emphasis on ERISA and IRC compliance, fiduciary responsibility, benefit claims, prohibited transactions, negotiating and enforcing agreements with third-party vendors, withdrawal liability, and merger issues. Jacqui also has significant involvement in complex ERISA litigation. As head of the Compliance Department at the firm, she prides herself on accessibility to clients and administrators.
In recognition of her professional achievements, Jacqui was named to the 2026 Michigan Legal 250, a list of Michigan's top legal leaders selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. She has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer from 2019 through 2026 and was honored by Michigan Lawyers Weeklyas a 2024 Leader in the Law and a member of its 2014 Women in the Law class. In addition, Jacqui has published articles in the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans Journal and has been a speaker at the Annual Enrolled Actuaries Meeting and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans Annual Conference.
Jacqui is a former Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the Detroit College of Law and a former Legal Research and Writing Instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She has also contributed to her local community as a Member of Council and as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
