
Jacqueline A. Kelly
Jacqueline (Jacqui) Asher Kelly is a co-founder and Managing Partner of AsherKelly, with nearly three decades of experience in pensions, health and welfare benefits, and labor and employment law.
A highly respected attorney, Jacqui focuses her practice on Taft-Hartley multiemployer fringe benefit fund representation, with an emphasis on ERISA and IRC compliance, fiduciary responsibility, benefit claims, prohibited transactions, negotiating and enforcing agreements with third-party vendors, withdrawal liability, and merger issues. Jacqui also has significant involvement in complex ERISA litigation. As head of the Compliance Department at the firm, she prides herself on accessibility to clients and administrators.
Jacqui has been selected as one of Michigan’s Leading Lawyers from 2019–2025. She was named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s as a 2024 Leader in the Law, an honor bestowed for significant professional achievements, and was a member of the 2014 class of Women in Law.
She has published articles in the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Journal and has been a speaker at the Annual Enrolled Actuaries Meeting and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Annual Meeting.
Jacqui is a former Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the Detroit College of Law and a former Legal Research and Writing Instructor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She has also contributed to her local community as a Member of Council and as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
